Moose Mountain Minerals launches website!

March 19th, 2010 at 6:37 am

Welcome to our site!  I have been collecting minerals since age 9, ever since a highly-improbable Apache Tear washed out of a neighbor's yard in suburban San Diego and lay before me on the sidewalk.  Soon I was venturing into the hills and began finding tourmaline and quartz, tektites, and fossils.

I became interested in subtle energies in 2007, and began collecting with an eye toward the metaphysical properties of minerals and crystals, and gifting friends and family with pieces that felt appropriate for them.  In 2008, I began studying Reiki with John and Lourdes Gray, Reiki Master Teachers, and am nearing completion of my Reiki Master Practitioner certification.

(A "belief" in subtle energies is not necessary, of course, for an interest in minerals and crystals, and we welcome all collectors, both physical and metaphysical.)

My 16 year old son Connor shares my interests and assists in collecting and managing our substantial collection of several thousand items, which we are now offering for sale on this site and in our showrooom.

We have recently returned from the 2010 Tucson Gem and Mineral Show with a fantastic assortment of new items, which will soon be available on this site, including a spectacular museum-quality piece from the now-closed Elmwood Mine weighing over 100 lbs... a nearly 3 foot long slab covered with deep-red and purple sphalerite and amber calcite micro-crystals, and featuring an incredible pristine cluster of classic amber Elmwood calcite of enormous size and a huge "ball" of yellow barite.  This is the piece pictured on our home page - acquired from Gary Fleck.  It is available for sale, contact Kevin for a quote.
